I am helping out James with VoteAuction.com and I have a few questions about the availability of cgi-bin and databases. kewl! 1. I saw that there is access to php3 on the site. Do we have access to a cgi-bin directory? Some of the pages are already designed to use CGI, it just makes my life easier. cgi directory is: /usr/lib/cgi-bin but you dont have permission to write there as user: voteauction. i think the best would be if you could call me right now.. i would give you the super- user password temporarily, you set it up and i change it back. its a bit critical because this is our most important server [front-end web-server]; but if you can do pretty fast.. no pro.. just be very carefull... call me and i give you su pass: +436769300061 2. Do you have a database I could access? All I need is a couple of tables to hold e-mail addresses and some demographic information. Again this would make managing the site easier. there is MySQL running.. sure, you can use it for this... ok, also.. it would be good to have icq comm when you work on it.. so you can ask me stuff. its a debian linux running, thats doesnt make it easier.. different filestrucutre, etc.. icq 38302022 ciao! hans_e thanks, Shane Mayer --- James M Baumgartner wrote: >Hans, meet Shane.
