Like it would be nice if families could upload photos of themselves. The company's mission could be spun as a solution to the gaps opened up by welfare reform: parents required to work for welfare benefits don't have time to look after their children, the daycare system is already overburdened and prone to abuse; some welfare recipients, instead of moving on to workfare, have simply dropped off the rolls and have become homeless; by selling ("sectorizing"?) a child to the highest bidder both the family and the child get a chance at a fresh start; the market will show how truly valuable children are; it brings people from diverse backgrounds together and helps obliterate class lines; it's time to take stock of our youth... It's difficult to maintain that positive attitude with Janet Reno breathing down your neck, I'll bet. I've changed Family Privatization Services so that it is an online adoption broker with a functioning auction script (haven't hooked it up yet online) that allows me to put phoney families up for adoption, but allows real people to register and bid. However, if that constitutes some kind of fraud probably not a good idea and the whole thing could be faked instead. I mean could you make a fraud case against a website where a photograph of the CEO opens up revealing a monkey inside his head? Don't know. I guess we're out there on the frontier. On another trajectory, I'm in NYC and looking for work. If any of you know somebody looking for HTML/Javascript coder in this area would appreciate a head's up. Thanks, Kevin >Nice!! Or, here's a thought--perhaps the X-Auction format should be avoided, because maybe journalists will be so sensitive to this great hoax potential....they'll automatically assume it's a hoax because Voteauction was revealed.... just a thought, not sure.... > >http://rtmark.com/ >Turning information resources into emotional capital. > >On Mon, 6 Nov 2000, Kevin LaPalme wrote: > >>The site could be named WelfareAuction.com and when it's launched announce the intention to build a vertical network of auction sites: >> >>RoadwayAuction.net for the conversion of municipal streets to private toll roads >> >>WaterAuction.net for water systems and water rights >> >>EducationAuction.net for schools >> >>PublicParkAuction.net >> >>UtilityAuction.net >> >>and so on >> >> >> >>On 6 Nov 2000, at 17:18, RTMark admin wrote: >> >>>unbelievably cool. this could be worse than voteauction!! >>> >>>http://rtmark.com/ >>>Turning information resources into emotional capital. >>> >>>On Mon, 6 Nov 2000, Kevin LaPalme wrote: >>> >>>>What I was thinking was that since BizWeb, when thoroughly explored is obviously a parody, FPS could be spun off into its own domain, and the blatantly parodic elements could be removed, and a dynamically scripted marketplace section added to it.
